If you're looking to replace your installation adaptors, we're here to help! Read on below!
Needed Supplies: Towel or Bucket, Silicone Grease

Section 1 - Depressurize your Plumbing
1. Bypass the water softener by pushing the handle IN on the back of your unit.
If you have a blending valve, make sure it's closed so no hard water is coming through. Refer to What is a Blending Valve for instructions.
2. Go ahead and unplug the power supply from the outlet.
3. Next, you'll need to turn your main water supply off and drain your plumbing. Once you have your main water supply turned off, turn on a faucet at the highest and lowest points in the house. Then, wait for the lines to empty and the water flow stops.
Section 2 - Remove the Installation Adaptors
1. Grab your towel or bucket now and position it below your plumbing to catch any leftover water in the pipes.
2. If you have flexible plumbing, move on to step 3. If you have rigid plumbing, you have a couple extra steps here:
- On the Inlet/Outlet pipes, remove the black C-clips. Gently pull one side of the black c-clip away from the softener, and slowly roll it towards the other side of the c-clip to remove. If the clips are still not easy to remove, they may be bound because the system isn’t completely level. Slowly and gently rock the softener back and forth slightly while applying pressure to the c-clip as described above to free them.
- Then pull the softener away from the bypass assembly.
3. You can remove the installation adaptors from your bypass assembly now by unhooking the black C-clips that are secured around the adaptors. Pull one side of the c-clip away from the adaptor and slowly roll it towards the other side to remove.
4. Unscrew the plumbing lines from the installation adaptors.
5. Now, you'll want to grab your new adaptors and O-rings. You should lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease.
6. Go ahead and roll the O-rings onto the smooth end (opposite of threads) on the installation adaptor. The O-ring should sit against the first plastic ridge on the adaptor.
7. Push the new adaptors into the top of the bypass assembly. You'll need to equally distribute a strong force to push the adaptors in. When you've got them attached to the bypass you can secure them with the two black C-clips.
8. You're ready to reattach the plumbing lines to the threads on the installation adaptors now. Go ahead and do that.
9. If you have flexible piping, you can skip to Section 3 now. If you have rigid piping, your last step here is to push your softener back onto the bypass assembly and then secure the inlet/outlet with the black C-clips. Next, you'll test for leaks.
Section 3 - Testing for Leaks
1. Open/turn on two or more softened, cold water faucets in your home. Slowly open the main water supply valve. Run water at those faucets until there's a steady flow with no air bubbles.
2. Then, you'll want to slowly take the softener off of bypass by pulling the handle back OUT, allowing the water into the system. After a few minutes, turn on a few hot water faucets and keep them on until they're running smoothly.
3. When the water is running smoothly, go ahead and close/turn off all faucets. Go back to the softener and check for any leaks at the plumbing connections. Is there any leaking?
- NO - Great! Move on to step 4.
- YES - You need to depressurize your system and then check the seals at the bypass clips.
4. Last step is to plug the power cord back into the outlet. You're finished!
