Occassionaly in warmer climates, the only place to install your new water softener is on the outside of your home. Take a look at the tips below for a proper outdoor install.
Our units can be installed outdoors, but we recommend the following:
- When installing your softener, be sure to construct a shelter or covering to block the unit from sun, wind, rain, and other environmental elements
- Verify the power cord is also sheltered at the outlet connection
- Consider applying a plastic covering or barrier at the back of your unit, where water comes in and out. There is a cutout on the back of the top cover, and critters could find their way in
- Weather can change anytime. Keep an eye out if your area is forecasting below freezing temperatures, and take the appropriate steps to prevent internal damage to your unit
