Wondering about the light on top of your softener? A steady light is normal, while a flashing light might need some attention. Let's take a look at what it means.

RHS32 & RHS42
- Steady: Your water softener is working normally.
- Flashing slowly: Your softener's salt level is low. After adding more salt, visit our Salt Level Programming article to learn how to reset your salt level.
- Flashing slowly with 'CLn' or 'CLEAn' shown: Four months have passed, meaning it's time to use a bottle of RheemĀ® Water Softener Cleaner.
- Flashing rapidly with 'SET TIME' or 'PRESENT TIME' shown: You'll want to set your softener's clock using the up and down arrow buttons, then press Select once the time is set correctly.
- Flashing rapidly with 'Err' shown: Your softener's electronics have encountered a problem. Take look at our Error Code article for some troubleshooting tips.
RHW42
- Green: Your softener is successfully connected to the iQua server.
- Flashing Amber/Yellow: Your softener is in Connect Mode and ready to connect to WiFi.
- Red: Your softener is receiving a wireless update.
