Cloudy water is often a result of poor drainage, which allows contaminants to stay trapped in the resin media tank. Read our checklist below to confirm your drain hose is installed properly and free of obstructions.
Troubleshooting Cloudy Water
1. Review the Drain Line Requirements, to confirm your hose is not routed too high or too far from the unit.
2. Check that the valve drain hose and elbow are both clear and free of debris. If needed, follow our Drain Hose Cleaning Guide.
3. Depending on your model, you may have customizing options for a 'Clean' feature. The Clean feature adds a short backwash and rinse to the beginning of each recharge cycle:
a. Hold the Program button until '000' appears on the screen, then let go.
b. Push the Program button once. The first screen will show 'On' or 'Off' with a small E symbol. Press the Program button again.
c. You should see a screen that shows 'On' or 'Off' and 'Clean'. Use the Up/Down arrows to turn this ON.
d. Press the Program button again to chose the duration of the Clean cycle. We recommend increasing your current setting by 2-3 minutes.
e. Hold the Program button down until your model code displays, then tap Program once more to return to the home screen.
